Contract Type: Variable Hours, Fixed Term for 1 year
Location: Durham International Study Centre, Stockton-on-Tees (On-Site)
Salary: up to £33.57/hour

The purpose of the role is to deliver highly effective modules at International Foundation Year (Pre Undergraduate, level 3 and Pre masters, level 6), in the Centre. We are looking for candidates with a range of experience in delivering Psychology teaching.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Delivering modules (face-to-face) to international students studying on programmes offered by the Centre and assisting with the development of modules.
Developing modules from module specifications. This will include schemes of learning along with appropriate development of learning resources.
Preparing module examinations and other forms of formative and summative assessment, marking and providing feedback to students.
Assisting with the development and maintenance of the Centre’s virtual learning environment (VLE). Facilitating student access to same.
Providing input for related modules to the annual review and reporting process.
Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date record of student attendance and performance.
Providing, when/if required, academic learning support to a small number of students.
Participating in regular meetings with teaching and support staff.
Supporting various student engagement activities around the ISC.
Attending lectures given by Durham University to support student progression.
Arranging and supporting visits to places of interest linked to subject.

ABOUT YOU

A recognised teaching qualification (desirable)
A Master’s degree or equivalent in a related subject area
Fluent spoken and written English
Teaching experience delivering Psychology programmes within a Further Education or Higher Education context
Experience of working with international students face to face (Desirable)
Competence in teaching and administrative IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail, etc)
A student-centred approach
Strong record-keeping skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Flexibility
Ability to work under pressure to deadlines
Strong sense of teamwork
