Overview

Join our dynamic hospitality team as a Kitchen Porter and be a vital part of creating a seamless dining experience! In this energetic role, you will support the kitchen staff by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help uphold our high standards of hygiene and service, contributing to a welcoming environment for both guests and staff. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced restaurant or hotel setting while developing essential culinary skills.

Duties

Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including floors, surfaces, utensils, and equipment, adhering to health and safety standards
Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as washing vegetables, peeling ingredients, and organizing supplies
Support chefs and kitchen staff by fetching ingredients, replenishing stock, and ensuring all necessary items are readily available
Clear and clean dishes, cookware, and cutlery promptly to keep the kitchen running efficiently
Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed diligently
Help with setting up dining areas or service stations as needed for meal service
Follow hygiene protocols consistently to maintain a safe and sanitary environment for everyone

Qualifications

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm to learn is key!
Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting colleagues
Good physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks comfortably
Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to food handling is advantageous but not mandatory
A genuine interest in hospitality and delivering excellent service
