Band 7 Pre-treatment Therapeutic Radiographer- Sutton site.
The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust has an international reputation for high quality patient care, education and research and its partnership with the Institute of Cancer Research has created the largest comprehensive cancer centre in Europe.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, caring and highly motivated therapy radiographer to work as a Band 7 Team Leader within the Pre-treatment team.

The role will include working in all key areas of the Pre-treatment services, which include Mould room, a Siemens Confidence CT scanner, Cannulation and Virtual simulation (Raystation) – much of which is radiographer led. The department has 6 Elekta Linear accelerators, 2 Radixact units, a Cyberknife and an Elekta MR Linac. Digital patient pathways are managed using the Mosaiq Smart Clinic software throughout the department.

This role will give you the opportunity to work at the cutting edge of radiotherapy development in a forward thinking and technically advanced department for the benefit of your patients.

The post-holder will liaise with medical, physics, nursing, clerical and support staff within the department and throughout the institution. The key working relationships will be with superintendent radiographers.

As clinical lead at the work base to be responsible for evidence based decision making within prescribed limits. Be competent to analyse and approve images following designated training and adhering to protocols.

Responsible for the accurate preparation, planning and delivery of treatment by self and by all members of the immediate team.

Set high standards of technical expertise, acting as role model to junior staff members. To be responsible for maintaining professional standards of self and other team members.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working as part of a team and will have exemplary communication and patient care skills along with strong pre-treatment technical skills and experience. In addition, this role requires someone who is flexible and keen to learn as the role includes developing our multimodality pathways for enhanced planning in a quality driven environment.
