As well as our head office in Llanelli, we have ten further regional branches. Our brand is ‘Anything in Steel’. We have recently acquired a subsidiary company with an additional 65 staff.

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis to support strategic decision-making. You will work closely with various departments to ensure accurate financial management and compliance.

Responsibilities

Assisting with or preparing monthly management accounts
Assisting with preparation of divisional reporting
Assisting with weekly cashflows
Producing journals, accruals and prepayments
Conducting balance sheet reconciliations
Daily bank reconciliations
Supporting month-end and year-end close processes
Analysing financial performance and investigating variances
Preparing reports and financial information for senior management
Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with internal controls
Petty cash reconciliations
Intercompany and Inter divisional journals
Stock reconciliations and adjustments
Fixed Asset register maintenance
Wages reports, journals and deduction reconciliations
Assisting with VAT returns
Monitoring processes to ensure compliance with HMRC etc
Supporting the wider accounts team with ad-hoc projects and analysis
Supporting the audit and reporting to the Finance Director

Requirements

Proven experience in financial management within a corporate environment, preferably in the industrial or manufacturing sector.
Strong proficiency in various accounting software
Solid understanding of financial accounting principles and practices.
Experience of large quantities of monthly transactions
Experience of payables essential and payroll experience desirable
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
