ehicle Technician / Mechanic – £35,000 + Company Vehicle

Swindon
£35,000 per year + Company Vehicle
Full Time – Monday to Friday

Lux Vans is looking for an experienced Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join our team in Swindon.

We buy and sell a wide range of used cars and commercial vehicles and are looking for someone to take responsibility for the mechanical preparation of our own stock.

This is a little different from a traditional garage role. There are no back-to-back customer bookings or customers waiting at reception — the focus is on inspecting, diagnosing, repairing and preparing our own vehicles to a high standard before sale.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

Inspecting newly purchased vehicles
Servicing and general mechanical repairs
Brakes, suspension, steering and drivetrain repairs
Cambelts, clutches and other larger mechanical jobs
MOT preparation and repairs
Fault finding and diagnostics
Identifying required parts and repairs
Rectifying mechanical issues on sold vehicles where required
Helping us improve the overall preparation process

We don't expect you to know absolutely everything. More specialist work can still be outsourced when necessary. We're looking for a good, experienced all-round mechanic who can work independently and use their own judgement.

What We're Looking For

Experienced vehicle technician/mechanic
Good all-round mechanical knowledge
Able to work independently
Sensible approach to fault finding and diagnosis
Good standard of workmanship
Full UK driving licence
Experience with vans and diesel vehicles would be an advantage
Formal qualifications are desirable but experience and ability are more important to us
