About the Role

We are looking for an experienced, motivated and commercially driven Business Development Manager to join our growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual to play a key role in the continued growth of an established asbestos removal company, developing new business opportunities while building and maintaining strong relationships with both new and existing clients.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and securing opportunities across the asbestos removal, construction, refurbishment and demolition sectors, working with main contractors, demolition contractors, developers, housing associations, local authorities, facilities management companies and other organisations requiring asbestos-related services.

As asbestos removal and demolition are closely linked, experience or established contacts within the demolition sector would be particularly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

Identify and develop new business opportunities within the asbestos removal, demolition and wider construction sectors.
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients and opportunities.
Develop relationships with main contractors, demolition contractors, developers, consultants, housing associations, local authorities and other key organisations.
Generate new leads through networking, industry contacts, tender opportunities, referrals and direct approaches.
Build strong, long-term relationships with existing clients to encourage repeat business and identify further opportunities.
Promote the company's full range of asbestos removal and associated services.
Identify opportunities for Strada to become an approved contractor or join relevant tender and framework opportunities.
Attend client meetings, site visits, networking events and industry events as required.
Work closely with our estimating, contracts and management teams when developing opportunities and preparing tenders.
Monitor market activity, upcoming projects, competitor activity and developments within the asbestos and demolition industries.
Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, client communications and business development activity.
Provide regular updates to senior management on opportunities, pipeline development and progress.
Work towards agreed business development and revenue targets.

About You

We are looking for someone who is confident, professional and comfortable developing relationships at all levels.

The ideal candidate will have:

Previous experience in business development, sales or account management, preferably within asbestos removal, demolition, construction or a related industry.
A good understanding of the asbestos removal and/or demolition sectors.
An established network of industry contacts would be highly advantageous.
A proven ability to identify opportunities and convert leads into new business.
Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
The confidence to approach prospective clients and develop new relationships.
A commercially focused and results-driven approach.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities.
The ability to work independently while also working closely with our operational and estimating teams.
A full UK driving licence.

Previous direct experience within the asbestos industry would be beneficial; however, we would also be very interested in speaking with candidates who have a strong background and established contacts within the demolition or construction sectors.
