Full job description

Joinery CNC operator

Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated and competent individual with experience in CNC operations and a good knowledge of materials within a joinery shop environment to join the team here at Blackdown.

Key Responsibilities

Running programs on our Homag CNC machine - 5 Axis
Communicating with production team to ensure the machined items are correct and efficiently produced.
Ability to identify machining problems and report to their manager
Knowledge of, or first-hand experience in wood machining.
Read and work from basic technical drawings and cutting lists.
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Working as part of a collaborative team to achieve shared goals
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
Highly responsible and reliable
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Skills & Experience Required

CNC operations (lots of wood)
Material knowledge
Wood machining experience
Reliable, punctual, and able to work to deadlines.
Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings and measurements.

Expected hours: 40 per week

Monday – Thursday 07:30 – 17:00 Friday 07:30-12:45
