Full job description

We are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join our very successful, friendly village school located in the beautiful village of Potterspury, South Northamptonshire.

We have an excellent opportunity for a positive, friendly and kind teaching assistant to join our team. You will be required to provide effective 1:1 or 1:2 support for pupils with complex additional needs in a small SEN base, so we would ideally prefer candidates with this level of experience. Ideally candidates will have worked in an inclusion base or SEN school and have significant experience of supporting pupils with additional needs.

We are looking for someone who is:

Has experience of, or be open to learning about, supporting pupils with challenging behaviours
Able to support pupils with intimate care needs
Willing to learn and undertake training
Willing to go above and beyond
Passionate about learning and education
Professional and calm
Educated to at least GCSE level with a good grade in English and Maths
An excellent communicator and great at time management

Benefits include a supportive and friendly working environment, wellbeing initiatives, term time only contract and an attractive pension proposition. This position will be for 30 hours 50 minutes per week 08:45-15:15 Monday to Fridays.

This role will be offered on a fixed term basis commencing 01/09/2026 and ending 31/08/2027. The role salary is based on 38 weeks per year and is subject to the applicant’s eligibility to work in the UK and successful DBS, references and medical clearance. Salary is £13.47 per hour paid pro rata (£25,989 FTE) in equal monthly payments. Although the role is currently fixed term, there is the possibility that this could be extended due to the fact that our SEN base is due to expand at the end of the academic year.
