Location: Cardiff, CF14 5UU

Shifts: 37.5 hours per week 8am-4pm

Salary: £26,000 per annum

MUST HAVE A DRIVING LICENSE AND ACCESS TO A VEHICLE

We're looking for a reliable and practical Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Ty Heulog a brand new 32 bed nursing home in Cardiff.

As our Maintenance Assistant, you'll play a key role in ensuring our building, grounds, and facilities remain safe, clean, and well maintained for the people we support, our staff, and visitors.

Role Responsibilities:

Responsible for the general maintenance and decoration and general upkeep of residential and supported living services within a defined geographic area, this includes minor electrical and plumbing works.
Work efficiently and independently or as part of a team, depending on requirements
Planned maintenance works
Travel between services to undertake works
Check emails daily, prioritise and respond to emergencies.
To ensure all work is completed to a high standard.
Communicate positively with all managers and respond to their requests verbally in a prompt manner.
Ensure the health and safety of yourself, colleagues and most importantly the people we support is upheld for all tasks and duties.
Carry out tasks if they fall within the remit of professional competence and boundaries.
Communicate effectively with line manager and facilities co-ordinator.
Ensure CAFM system is maintained and updated.
To ensure the upkeep of all houses is to a high specification.
Maintain the van allocated and ensure the vehicle is safe to drive before any journey and use electronic reporting for issues found.
Be willing to do 1 week out of 6 on-call rota, for which an additional payment is made.

Skills and experience:

Previous experience of working in maintenance , or similar.

Excellent communication skills.

Ability to prioritise effectively.

Good technical knowledge and understanding of when and how to seek specialist expertise.

Confident IT user.

Satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
