As a Data Insight Specialist at Reboot, your primary responsibility is to uncover unique, accurate and newsworthy insights that give our Digital PR campaigns the strongest possible chance of success.
You'll combine analytical thinking, statistical knowledge and creative curiosity to identify stories within data, communicate findings clearly and help create campaigns that earn high-quality media coverage while supporting SEO, digitalPR and AiPR® objectives.
Success is measured by the quality, originality and impact of the insights you uncover, and how effectively they contribute to campaign performance.
What you’ll be doing
- Source relevant, authoritative and reliable datasets that support campaign ideas across a range of industries.
- Mentor and develop talented Junior Analysts.
Campaign Development
- Work alongside the Digital PR team during ideation to identify opportunities where data can strengthen campaign concepts.
- Help shape campaign direction by identifying the strongest research questions, methodologies and datasets from the outset.
- Translate complex analysis into clear, engaging insights that the PR team can confidently turn into media stories.
- Present findings in a way that's easy for non-technical colleagues to understand and apply.
Quality & Innovation
- Review datasets and methodologies produced by fellow Data Analysts to ensure accuracy, consistency and robustness.
- Stay up to date with new data sources, analytical techniques and emerging technologies that improve campaign quality.
- Continuously expand Reboot's library of trusted data sources and research methodologies.
- Explore new ways data can support GEO, AiPR® and future Digital PR campaign formats.
- Use web scraping, APIs and other data collection techniques to gather information where suitable datasets don't already exist.
- Clean, validate and prepare datasets to ensure accuracy and reliability before analysis.
- Analyse datasets to uncover trends, patterns and statistically meaningful findings that support compelling campaign narratives.
- Validate findings through appropriate statistical methods and quality assurance.
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience sourcing, cleaning and analysing large datasets.
- Strong understanding of statistical methods and interpreting quantitative data.
- Experience using Python for data analysis (including libraries such as pandas, NumPy and matplotlib or Plotly).
- Experience using web scraping tools and techniques such as Requests, Beautiful Soup, Selenium or Scrapy.
- Ability to communicate complex findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Experience reviewing and validating data for quality and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
Desirable
- Degree in a mathematical, analytical or research-focused discipline such as Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, Business, Economics or Finance.
- Experience working with geospatial datasets and tools such as GeoPandas, QGIS or ArcGIS.
- Experience using APIs for data collection.
- Knowledge of Natural Language Processing techniques.
- Experience using AI-assisted analytical tools and workflows.
