The Role
We are seeking a reliable and proactive individual to join our team. This role requires someone with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently using their own initiative. Flexibility, multitasking, and good timekeeping are essential. Enhanced DIY skills will be required for product assembly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pick and locate specialist products to meet customer requirements.
- Assemble components as required to produce finished products that meet established quality control standards and specifications.
- Measure and cut curtain rails to specification.
- Package goods securely and label for dispatch.
- Load and unload heavy or awkward items.
- Occasionally collect or deliver goods across the UK (may involve overnight stays, expenses included).
- Driving of display vehicle to UK destinations (may involve overnight stays, expenses included).
- Work with the sales team to ensure timely dispatch and efficient organisation of transport and call-offs.
- Assist with stock control and ordering of stock and incidental items via stock control & management software system – (full training will be given).
- Check the quality of goods received.
- Communicate professionally with suppliers, couriers, and overseas customers using Microsoft Outlook.
- Maintain roadworthiness of display vehicle, carrying out checks before it goes on any visits.
- Assist in organising product display boards in the display vehicle and office showroom.
- Fire Marshall duties, including routine testing of alarms and reporting.
- Be responsible for Health & Safety, moving & handling, and tidiness of warehouse.
Other Ad-Hoc Responsibilities:
- Arrange dispatch within the UK and overseas using various external couriers.
- Carry out two main stock takes per year, plus occasional spot-checks.
- Support setup and breakdown of exhibition stands (up to four per year; may require work outside normal hours).
- Receive and dispatch orders using the software system (holiday cover).
- Produce commercial invoices for exports (holiday cover).
Qualifications and Skills:
- Enhanced DIY skills (e.g., measuring, cutting, and assembling samples).
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft 365.
- Full, clean UK driving licence with a minimum of 3 years’ driving experience.
- Applicants must be aged 25 or over (insurance requirement).
- Must have the right to work in the UK.
- Previous warehouse experience is preferred; full training will be provided.
- Experience using software systems is desirable.
- Knowledge of export processes and commodity codes is advantageous.
- Preferable knowledge of exporting goods and related commodity codes.

Hours of work
- Monday to Thursday: 08:00–17:00 (one 1-hour unpaid lunch, three 30-minute unpaid lunches)
- Friday: 08:00–15:00 (30-minute unpaid lunch)
