Full job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Accounts Assistant to join our finance team, within our busy Engineering Company. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in processing financial data. The role includes use of Sage Accountancy Software and Sage Payroll.

Duties

Manage accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices using Sage accounting software.
Perform data entry tasks related to financial transactions, maintaining precise records
Assist with bank reconciliations and ledger management
Support month-end and year-end closing activities
Collaborate with the finance team to resolve discrepancies and improve processes
Maintain organised documentation of financial transactions in compliance with company policies
Contribute to the optimisation of accounts processes through continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

Proven experience in a similar role preferable using Sage accounting software
Familiarity with Sage Payroll is advantageous
Strong data entry skills with high accuracy levels
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Basic understanding of accounting principles and procedures .
Relevant qualifications or training in finance or accounting are beneficial but not essential.

Pay: £12.75-£16.75 per hour
