We are currently seeking a dedicated and personable Veterinary Care Assistant to join our expanding team.

Job Description:

As a Veterinary Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our veterinary team and ensuring the well-being of our patients. Your responsibilities will include animal care, assisting with clinical duties, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist veterinary surgeons and nurses with routine procedures and treatments
Provide compassionate care to animals and clients
Prepare and maintain the cleanliness of consultation rooms and treatment areas
Assist in restraining animals during examinations and treatments
Help with the preparation of surgical equipment and materials
Assist with the handling and care of inpatients, including the administration of medications under supervision
Maintain accurate patient records in our management system
Reception duties including:
Greeting clients and their pets, scheduling appointments, and managing the appointment calendar
Answering phone calls, responding to enquiries, and processing payments
Ensure the practice is clean, organised, and welcoming

Job Requirements:

Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care environment preferred but not essential
Minimum GCSE grade C/4 in English and Maths
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in using computer systems and Microsoft Office is required; familiarity with ProVetCloud and Digital Practice would be a plus but is not essential
A compassionate and caring attitude towards animals and their owners
