Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Paint Prepper to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces and materials to ensure a flawless finish in our painting projects. Your energetic approach and commitment to quality will help us deliver exceptional results to our clients. Duties

Thoroughly clean and prepare surfaces by removing dirt, grease, rust, old paint, and other contaminants using hand tools and cleaning agents
Sand, grind, or smooth surfaces with hand tools or power tools to ensure proper adhesion of paint or coatings
Mask off areas that do not require painting to prevent overspray and ensure clean lines
Handle heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely, following proper lifting techniques and safety protocols
Inspect surfaces for imperfections and perform minor repairs as needed before painting begins
Organize and maintain tools, supplies, and work areas for efficiency and safety
Follow safety guidelines at all times, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, masks, and eye protection

Skills

Strong mechanical knowledge to understand surface preparation techniques and equipment operation
Proficiency with hand tools such as scrapers, sanders, brushes, and putty knives
Experience using power tools like grinders, drills, or sanders for surface preparation tasks
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a physically demanding environment
Excellent attention to detail to ensure surfaces are properly prepared for painting
Good communication skills to follow instructions accurately and work effectively within a team
Willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to different project requirements
