We have a fantastic opportunity for Health and Fitness Manager to join us as the lead for all health and fitness services across each of of our venues, with responsibility for motivating and developing our fitness colleagues, and driving the commercial success of our health and fitness programmes.
This role is perfect for an experienced manager looking for a new challenge, with the chance to make real impact on both our team and our members, helping to shape the future of health and fitness in our community.
Main responsibilities include:
- Lead, motivate, and develop our health and fitness teams to deliver high-quality services
- Drive membership sales, retention, and overall commercial performance
- Oversee the planning, delivery, and review of fitness programmes, including group exercise and personal training
- Manage budgets, KPI's, and operational resources effectively
- Ensure excellent customer experiences across all venues
- Recruit, train, and mentor colleagues to maintain consistent standards
- Promote health and fitness services through internal and external engagement
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards
Key Essential Experiences and Qualifications for the Role
- Leadership or team management experience in a fitness, health or customer-focussed environment
- Experience developing and delivering fitness programmes, including group exercise and personal training
- Proven commercial or sales experience in a target-driven environment
- Knowledge of customer service impact on retention and engagement
- REPS Level 3 fitness qualification
- GP referral qualification (or other Level 4 certifications)
- Minimum of three CPD's in group exercise class instruction (e.g., Kettlebells, indoor cycling, Zumba)
Beneficial Experience and Qualifications
- Programming group exercise classes
- Experience managing children's fitness programmes
- Working within public or third sector environments
- Supporting marketing or engagement campaigns
- REPS membership
- Ability to communicate in Welsh (or any others languages in addition to English)

- As travel between our sites across Newport is required, it is beneficial for you to have a full driving licence, and access to your own vehicle

Hours: Full time; 37 hours per week with requirement to work flexibly to meet the needs of the business
Starting Salary: £38,542 per annum
