Full job description

Overview

As a family run company based in York, we are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager (BDM). The candidate would ideally have a proven sales background and be a highly motivated, well organised, self-disciplined individual capable of running a large sales territory, including weekly telesales, canvassing and networking to appropriate business in the Yorkshire area, to help spearhead growth initiatives and expand our market presence.

Your energetic approach and proactive mindset will be essential in transforming prospects into long-term partners, fuelling our company's success. An understanding of the coffee industry and/or previous experience with selling and leasing capital equipment is desirable, but not necessary. The sales area covers primarily York, North Yorkshire and the surrounding area's, across to the East Coast. We are also able to cover the whole of Yorkshire within our operating area.

Duties

Identify and pursue new business opportunities by researching industry trends, market dynamics, and potential client needs.
Develop and execute strategic plans to acquire new clients and expand existing accounts, ensuring alignment with company goals.
Build and nurture robust relationships with prospects, clients, and industry stakeholders through regular communication, presentations, and negotiations.
Utilize CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software such as Pipedrive to track leads, manage sales pipelines, and analyse customer data for targeted outreach.
Collaborate with our marketing team to develop compelling proposals, presentations, and marketing campaigns that resonate with target audiences.
Conduct product demonstrations, negotiate contracts, and close deals efficiently while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
Monitor industry developments and competitor activities to identify emerging opportunities or threats that could impact business growth.

Desired Qualifications

Proven experience in business development or sales roles within relevant industries; prior experience with Pipedrive or other CRM software is highly preferred.
Strong understanding of sales processes, client relationship management, and strategic planning.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to engage diverse stakeholders effectively.
Ability to analyse market data and customer insights to inform strategic decision-making.
Self-motivated with a proactive attitude; capable of working independently while collaborating seamlessly with cross-functional teams.

Basic Salary of £34,400 per annum, On Target Earnings are circa £45,000 per annum, but the commission scheme is uncapped. A Company Pension scheme and a Company Car are also provided.
