Full job description

Senior IT Audit Controls Manager of a small team of Internal Controls Managers (ICMs) – various location across the UK possible (remote).

A huge, international commercial business is looking to appoint a Senior IT Audit Controls Manager to manage a team of Internal Controls Managers, and lead the development and implementation of IT control frameworks across its international operations. This is a contract position inside IR35 position, paying around £100-110,000 plus 15% bonus, on a minim term of 12 months. It offers excellent visibility and the chance to shape a maturing controls environment during a period of significant change.

Location: HQ in London, but can be based "remotely" nearly anywhere in the UK, preferably England and Wales

The Role

Support major transformation and change programmes by assessing IT risk exposure and advising on control design and testing.
Partner with Internal Audit and Finance to assess the effectiveness of existing IT controls and recommend improvements.
Provide specialist guidance on ITGCs, ERP control environments, and broader IT risk topics.
Take the lead in developing, implementing, and standardising IT control frameworks across business units worldwide.
Collaborate with the Group Technology team to strengthen control maturity and embed a governance-focused culture.
Identify and address IT control gaps, helping business units align with global compliance and regulatory standards.

Candidate Profile

Strong understanding of ITGCs, IT risk management, and internal controls frameworks such as COBIT, SOX, or NIST.
Previous experience in IT audit, internal controls, or a risk-focused role within a multinational environment or consultancy (Big 4 desirable).
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive change.
Management & leadership of people experience is a must.
Relevant professional qualifications such as CISA, CISM, or equivalent are preferred.
