About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Registered Manager to lead our children’s home in Huddersfield, supporting young people aged 8–17 years with emotional and behavioural needs.
You will have full responsibility for the operation of the home, leading the team, ensuring compliance, and delivering high-quality care that improves outcomes for young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the children’s home
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and Children’s Homes Regulations 2015
- Deliver a trauma-informed, child-centred approach to care
- Supervise, mentor, and performance manage staff, including regular supervisions and appraisals
- Build a stable, motivated, and high-performing team
- Ensure safeguarding and risk management practices are robust
- Manage budgets, staffing levels, and rotas effectively
- Develop strong relationships with local authorities, families, and external professionals
- Drive improvement to achieve and maintain Good or Outstanding Ofsted ratings
About You
You are a confident and inspiring leader who brings:
- Proven experience in staff supervision and team development
- Strong knowledge of children’s residential care and safeguarding

- The ability to lead by example and create a positive team culture
Essential Requirements
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete within timescales)
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a management role within children’s residential care
- Demonstrated experience of supervising and developing staff teams
- Strong understanding of Ofsted frameworks and safeguarding legislation
- Full UK driving licence
