This role is fully office based, and remote based candidates will not be considered.

Job Title: Web Developer (PHP / Laravel)
Location: Green Retreats, Westcott Venture Park
Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum, depending on experience
Green Retreats is the UK’s market-leading garden room manufacturer, and we’re looking for a strong mid-to-senior Web Developer to join our small, focused engineering team.
This is a hands-on role working directly with the Development Director, building and improving a customer portal used to manage orders, payments, and customer interactions. You’ll be contributing to both new feature development and ongoing system improvements in a production environment.
What you’ll be doing
- Building and maintaining a Laravel-based customer platform
- Developing new functionality across PHP, JavaScript, and MySQL
- Supporting and improving existing systems (This is not a greenfield-only role - you’ll be working on and improving an existing system as well as building new features.)
- Working with AWS-hosted infrastructure
- Collaborating closely within a small, engineering-led team
What we’re looking for
- Strong commercial experience with PHP and Laravel
- Solid JavaScript and MySQL skills
- Proven ability to write clean, maintainable, production-quality code
- Comfortable working on both new features and legacy systems
- Good communication skills and ability to work closely with stakeholders
Important:
This is not a role for WordPress template customisers or low-code developers. We’re looking for engineers who understand how to build systems properly.
