Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Transport Planner to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and optimising transportation operations to ensure the efficient movement of goods across supply chains. Duties
- Develop and implement transportation plans that optimise routes, reduce costs, and improve delivery times
- Manage scheduling of deliveries and collections in accordance with client requirements and operational capacity
- Coordinate with drivers, warehouse staff, and external partners to ensure seamless logistics operations
- Utilise Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) to prepare reports, schedules, and correspondence
- Monitor real-time transportation activities and adjust plans as necessary to address delays or issues
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance logs
- Analyse supply chain data to identify opportunities for process improvements
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries related to transportation schedules and delivery status
- Lead and motivate team members to achieve operational targets while maintaining high safety standards
Requirements
- Proven experience in management, logistics, or supply chain roles with a focus on transportation planning
- Container Haulage and VBS booking experience needed
- Strong driving skills with a valid driving licence preferred
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook; IT literacy is essential
- Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to manage teams and coordinate multiple stakeholders
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Good understanding of supply chain processes and logistics management principles
- Customer service orientation with a professional approach to client interactions
- Computer literacy is essential; familiarity with transport management systems (TMS) is advantageous

Pay: £28,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
