Job Description
1. Welcoming patients to the surgery in a courteous manner and projecting a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors.
2. Practice provides extended hours for patients access.
3. Providing general information, assistance and directing patients in accessing the appropriate service.
4. Answering the telephone and transfer calls to the appropriate healthcare professional or other team members.
5. Processing personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits and consultations and dealing with requests for home visits, changing appointments etc.
6. Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointments system.
7. Registering new patients and ensuring all necessary information is obtained and entered.
8. Updating patients medical records as required.
9. Processing patients medical records deduction and arrival of records.
10. Assisting patients with the completion of any forms, as necessary.
11. Filling, photocopying and scanning organisational documents, records, and patients' documentation.
12. Facilitating effective communication between patients, members of the health care team and visitors.
13. Checking, filling and issuing prescriptions to patients and resolving any issues patients may have in relation to a prescription request.
14. Processing repeat prescriptions in accordance with practice guidelines.
15. Assisting in typing referrals and reports.
16. Reporting any problems with the premises, medical equipment or the running of the practice to the manager.
17. Ensuring the reception area, notice-boards, the entrance remain tidy and welcoming.
18. Abiding by all legislation in relation to patient information, data protection and confidentiality.
19. Following practices procedures, and protocols.
20. Undertaking any other administrative duties that may arise from time to time to assist in the smooth running of the practice.
21. Support Administrator to the Reception Manager/Practice Manager.
