We are currently working with a children’s residential care provider who are looking to recruit a Residential Children’s Support Worker just outside of Newcastle to join their team.
The role involves supporting children living within a residential home environment presenting with EBD and challenging behaviours.
This is a permanent, full time role.
Pay: £13.29 per hour + £60 per sleep in.
Contracted hours: 40 hours per week
Hours: 7am - 10pm then sleep in. Then work 7am - 8am the next day.
Previous experience working with children is essential and a driving license.
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting young people with their daily routines and activities
- Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting emotional wellbeing
- Helping young people access education, hobbies and community activities
- Building positive and trusting relationships with the children in the home
- Maintaining accurate records and contributing to care planning
- Supporting young people with independent living skills
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to provide consistent support
- Following safeguarding procedures and reporting any concerns
