Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools (Huddersfield)
This role is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced Teaching Assistants, youth workers, or individuals with experience working with young people aged 11–16.
Location: Huddersfield
Job Type: Full-time / Part-time (Term Time Only - reflective on pay)
Salary: £92.60 - £115 per day (dependent on experience)
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising classes during teacher absences and ensuring students complete the work set
- Managing classroom behaviour in line with the school’s behaviour policy
- Supporting students with their learning where appropriate
- Maintaining a positive, safe, and focused learning environment
- Reporting back to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour
Requirements
- Experience working with young people aged 11+ (school, youth work, coaching, mentoring or similar)
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Confidence leading a classroom of students
- A proactive and adaptable approach
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
