The Role
Based in Wortley, Leeds, you’ll be part of a dynamic assembly team, supporting skilled mechanical fitters on a variety of tasks. Your day-to-day duties may include:
- Building sub-assemblies using standard SOPs and fixtures
- Preparing components for painting and post-paint assembly (re-tapping, reaming, cleaning)
- Marking, drilling, and tapping components
- Fitting exterior equipment such as nameplates, guard switches, hydraulic hoses, and auxiliary pumps
- Routing steel and nylon pipework
- Unpacking parts and equipment
- Fitting non-electrical machine services prior to testing
- Applying sealants as directed
- Non-electrical stripping of machines prior to dispatch
About You
We’re looking for candidates who:
- Have extensive hand tool experience
- Are confident assembling mechanical equipment or components
- Can follow standard operative procedures and assembly instructions
- Bring a flexible, proactive, and team-oriented attitude
- Value safety and quality in their work
Previous successful applicants have come from backgrounds such as motor mechanics, machine building, and mechanical assembly—whether professionally or through hobbies and personal projects. No formal qualifications are required.
