Job Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and organised Head of Housekeeping to lead our domestic team with in the Care home. The successful candidate will work with in the laundry department , oversee the delivery of exceptional cleanliness standards, manage a team of housekeeping staff, maintaining stock and and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. This role is vital in maintaining a welcoming and hygienic environment for our clients, staff, and visitors. The Head of Housekeeping will be responsible for implementing efficient cleaning procedures, managing resources, and fostering a culture of excellence within the team.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the housekeeping team to ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained at all times.
- Oversee the day to day operations of the Laundry services
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules and protocols tailored to different areas, of the service.
- Conduct regular inspections to monitor quality and address any deficiencies promptly.
- Coordinate with management to plan staffing requirements, training sessions, and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety & COSHH legislation, including infection control procedures in care settings.
- Manage procurement of cleaning supplies and equipment, maintaining cost-effective practices.
- Provide training and ongoing development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Handle staff scheduling, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Foster a positive working environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Experience
- Proven experience cleaning and laundry roles, with a strong background in managing teams within similar settings.
- Prior experience working in care environments or healthcare facilities is highly desirable.
- Demonstrable knowledge of health and safety regulations related to cleaning operations.
- Experience in developing cleaning procedures and implementing quality control measures.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with staff, management, and clients. The ideal candidate will be organised, proactive, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness across all facilities managed under their supervision.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £13.12 per hour
Expected hours: 23 – 28.75 per week
