Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and attentive Hotel Night Porter to join our team at the Abbey Sands Hotel. As a night porter you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and smooth operation of the hotel during night hours. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for hospitality and guest services, providing a welcoming atmosphere for our guests while maintaining high standards of professionalism. Currently the nights team work a four on four off shift pattern averaging 35 hours a week, thereby necessitating weekend working.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist guests arriving during night hours, ensuring a warm and professional first impression
- Monitor the hotel premises to ensure safety and security for all guests and staff
- Handle guest enquiries via phone and in person.
- Manage late check-ins, check-outs, and room allocations as required
- Respond promptly to any emergency situations or guest requests, providing efficient solutions
- Maintain accurate records of guest arrivals, departures, and any incidents during the night shift
- Conduct regular patrols of the hotel to identify maintenance issues or safety hazards
- Collaborate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to address guest needs swiftly and effectively
Experience
- Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Strong guest service skills with a friendly and professional demeanour
- Good phone etiquette and communication skills
- Knowledge of hospitality standards and procedures is desirable but not mandatory; a genuine passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences is essential
