Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team in the role of African and Caribbean Kitchen Cook. Duties
- Prepare a variety of dishes following established recipes and presentation standards
- Assist with meal preparation, including chopping, mixing, and assembling ingredients
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly adhered to during food handling and preparation
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitising surfaces
- Support the team during service hours by serving meals and attending to customer needs as required
- Monitor stock levels and notify management when supplies need replenishing
- Follow health and safety protocols at all times to create a safe working environment for all staff members
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or kitchen roles is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management
- Experience working in a restaurant or catering environment is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including busy periods and weekends if necessary
- A genuine interest in culinary arts and customer service excellence
