Duties
- Supervise and coordinate all café activities, including food preparation, serving, and cleaning routines
- Lead and motivate the team to deliver outstanding customer service and uphold company standards
- Oversee inventory management, stock ordering, and waste control to optimise resources
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene throughout the premises
- Develop staff schedules, organise training sessions, and monitor performance to foster a productive work environment
- Manage daily financial transactions, including cash handling and sales reporting
- Plan menus in collaboration with culinary staff, incorporating customer preferences and seasonal ingredients
- Handle customer enquiries, feedback, and resolve any issues promptly to ensure satisfaction
- Implement marketing initiatives to promote the café’s offerings and increase footfall
Skills
- Proven experience in supervising or managing within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food production processes
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to lead by example and inspire staff
- Extensive knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
- Proficiency in kitchen operations, including culinary techniques and kitchen experience
- Previous experience in hospitality roles such as serving or barista work is advantageous
- Leadership qualities with the ability to organise tasks efficiently under pressure
- Exceptional communication skills to liaise effectively with staff and customers
- Organised approach to managing stock levels, schedules, and operational procedures
