Overview
Our Agency are seeking a dedicated Ramp Agent/Baggage Handler to join our airport operations team. This role involves ensuring the safe and efficient handling of luggage and cargo, supporting aircraft turnaround processes, and maintaining high standards of safety and organisation. The successful candidate will play a vital part in delivering excellent service to passengers and airline partners, contributing to smooth airport operations.
Can work Thursday-Sunday afternoons.
Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload baggage, cargo, and freight onto aircraft in accordance with airline procedures.
- Assist with the movement of luggage using specialised equipment such as trolleys, conveyor belts, and dollies.
- Conduct routine safety checks on equipment and ensure all handling procedures comply with health and safety regulations.
- Support aircraft marshalling activities during arrivals and departures, including guiding aircraft when necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the ramp area to promote a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely turnaround of flights, adhering to schedules.
- Document baggage movements accurately and report any irregularities or damages promptly.
Qualifications
- Proven ability in effective time management to meet tight schedules in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analysis skills for assessing baggage loads, safety procedures, and operational challenges.
- Physical fitness to handle heavy luggage and perform manual tasks throughout shifts that may involve lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail when managing baggage handling processes.
- Previous experience in airport ground operations or logistics is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, or overnight shifts as required.
