Overview
An established regional law firm in Wigan is seeking a Senior Civil Litigation Solicitor to take over an existing caseload as part of a planned succession. This is a standalone role with a structured handover from a highly experienced litigator ahead of retirement.
The position offers the opportunity to lead and grow the litigation function, with clear progression to Director level.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a varied civil litigation caseload from instruction through to resolution
- Handle matters including commercial disputes, property litigation, debt recovery and general civil disputes
- Maintain and develop client relationships across both private and commercial clients
- Work closely with other departments to support cross-referrals
- Lead the development and expansion of the litigation department
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor with 5+ years’ PQE in civil litigation
- Strong experience across a range of general civil litigation matters
- Ability to manage a caseload independently
- Comfortable working in a standalone capacity
- Interest in progressing into a leadership role
Desirable
- Experience in areas such as property disputes, probate litigation or personal injury
- Business development or client relationship experience
Salary & Benefits
- £50,000 – £60,000 depending on experience
