As a Recovery Worker in Cornwall, you’ll join us on a starting salary of £28,000 per annum (this includes a £1,000 per annum allowance). This will increase each year in line with our pay progression bands.

The Drug and Alcohol Outreach Service is recruiting for an additional an Outreach Recovery Worker based in Liskeard. You will work alongside the Adult Community Service and the Young People’s Service to ensure that an accessible treatment offer is available to those who find themselves rough sleeping or in insecure accommodation. The Drug and Alcohol Outreach Service is countywide and promotes an holistic multi-agency response to the needs of the individual.
In this exciting role you will be joining a team of people who hold caseloads and work with those sleeping rough or in insecure accommodation, including emergency accommodation and hostels to offer harm reduction, assessment and access to a range of treatment options. As an Outreach Recovery Worker you will be meeting people in their space more often than in an office.
We are looking for a resilient and committed individual who has an understanding of the problems faced by individuals finding themselves homeless or in insecure accommodation and who enjoys a challenge. Experience of working within substance misuse would be beneficial, although we will provide training.
Above all, we are looking for someone who is passionate about what we do, and with a positive and engaging approach to our service users and staff.
The role will require extensive driving, so a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential. As part of this role, you will be required to work occasional Saturdays.

Have attained ONC/NVQ level 3 or be willing to achieve this within 12 months

Have demonstrable experience of working or volunteering in health, social care, criminal justice, or other specialist setting

Successful track record of working or volunteering with people who have experienced substance misuse issues

Have a driving license with access to a vehicle

Have the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and colleagues alike

Be able to work effectively in a team, supporting others when needed
