We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Sous Chef to oversee culinary operations within our establishment. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff, including chefs and food preparers, to ensure smooth daily operations
- Oversee food production processes, ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation standards are maintained
- Manage food preparation and cooking activities, adhering to recipes and health & safety regulations
- Provide guidance and training to team members on culinary techniques, food safety protocols, and best practices
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and manage stock rotation to minimise waste
- Enforce strict adherence to hygiene standards and food safety regulations at all times
- Support menu development initiatives by contributing innovative ideas and seasonal offerings
- Maintain a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen or hospitality environment
- Extensive background in food production, culinary arts, or restaurant operations
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team
- Excellent knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
- Experience in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen management
- Familiarity with hospitality industry practices including serving procedures and customer service principles
- Previous experience in restaurant or catering settings is highly desirable
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and maintaining high standards of quality and safety
