Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable 2nd Fix Carpenter to join our cabinet making team. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing the final stages of carpentry work on various projects, ensuring high standards of craftsmanship and safety. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilise a range of specialised skills, and contribute to the successful completion of bespoke works. Applicants should have a strong background in carpentry and related trades, with a keen eye for detail and quality.
Responsibilities
- Installing doors, skirting boards, architraves, and other internal joinery components with precision
- Fitting kitchen units, wardrobes, and other fixtures as part of the finishing process
- Using hand tools and power tools effectively to carry out carpentry tasks
- Assisting with fabrication and assembly of bespoke joinery elements on-site
- Conducting minor plumbing or electrical work related to carpentry installations (where qualified)
- Heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Maintaining a clean and organised work environment throughout each project phase
Experience
- Proven experience in carpentry, specialising in 2nd fix works within the construction industry
- Competence in fabrication, assembly, and joinery techniques
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers, screwdrivers, and measuring devices
- Proficient with power tools including drills, saws, sanders, and nail guns
- Ability to undertake heavy lifting safely and efficiently for extended periods
- Strong understanding of health & safety procedures relevant to construction sites
