Rikama Education Ltd. are working with a fantastic SEMH provision in Eltham who are looking for a SEND TA to start immediately on a full time, long term to permanent basis.
The successful candidate will be supporting a secondary aged male student with SEMH difficulties. The school are looking for someone who is able to build positive relationships with students, has a calm and resilient approach and has ideally had experience of supporting students with EHCPs previously.
Successful candidates will:
- have supported students with SEMH difficulties or challenging behaviour.
- use calming and positive behaviour techniques
- build trust and rapport with students
- model respectful and positive communication and behaviour
- be resilient
have a background in education settings, youth clubs, residential care, social workThe Role
- As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support secondary-aged students with a variety of special educational needs.
- You will assist with delivering personalised learning activities, provide one-to-one or small group support, and help foster an inclusive and positive classroom environment.
- This role is perfect for someone who is patient, proactive, and committed to helping students reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Support teachers in planning and delivering engaging, accessible lessons.
- Provide individual or small group support tailored to student needs.
- Monitor and record students’ progress, including EHCP-related goals.
- Collaborate with the teaching team to maintain a nurturing and supportive classroom.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment that builds student confidence and engagement.
