About Us
Decibel Fire & Security Ltd is a growing and ambitious fire and security company providing installation, maintenance, monitoring and support services across Fire Alarms, Emergency Lighting, Intruder Alarms, CCTV and Access Control systems throughout Gloucestershire and the surrounding areas.
As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Operations Manager to join our management team and help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of our operations.
The Role
This is a hands-on management role responsible for overseeing the daily operational delivery of our service, maintenance, installation and reactive works.
You will work closely with our engineering and office teams to ensure resources are effectively managed, customer expectations are exceeded, and operational performance remains efficient and compliant.
This position would suit someone with strong organisational and leadership skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and can confidently manage multiple priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operational activities of the business.
- Support planning and coordination of engineering resources.
- Monitor engineer productivity, utilisation and performance.
- Ensure service visits, installations and call-outs are completed efficiently.
- Manage operational issues and customer escalations.
- Support and develop engineering and operational staff.
- Monitor operational compliance and quality standards.
- Oversee company vehicles, tools, equipment and stock management.
- Produce operational reports and performance information.
- Work closely with senior management to improve processes and service delivery.
- Drive a culture of professionalism, accountability and excellent customer service.
About You
Essential
- Previous experience in an Operations Manager, Service Manager, Contracts Manager or similar leadership role.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Experience managing field-based engineers or technical teams.
- Excellent communication and people management abilities.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and operational software systems.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
- Experience within the Fire & Security industry.
- Knowledge of service and maintenance operations.
- Understanding of Health & Safety and compliance requirements.
- Experience using job management software such as Uptick.
