We are looking for someone to #JoinUs as a Crime Reduction Tactical Adviser in our Community Safety Team in Mid Glamorgan BCU. Could you be who we are looking for?
About the team/Department you will be joining:
- The Community Safety Team engage with all communities throughout Mid Glamorgan BCU (covering Cwm, Taf, Morgannwg), focusing on the problems which matter most to them.

Community Safety and Neighbourhood Policing is at the core of all Policing activity, providing both a policing response and engagement,

The position will be based either at Merthyr Police Station, Rhydycar Business Park, CF48 1DL or Bridgend Police Station, Queens Road, Bridgend, CF31 3TQ, however some flexibility will be expected to travel to other police stations, sites and areas.
About the role and your key responsibilities:

Your role will be to support neighbourhood policing teams and community safety activity through the co-ordination and engagement with colleagues and external partners.

CRTA’s play a vital role in developing problem-solving strategies tailored to local crime trends. Their work supports coordinated planning and proactive interventions to address emerging issues such as violent crime, knife-related offences, antisocial behaviour, and acquisitive crime
- the team work 7 days a week, your role will be Monday-Friday with an element of flexibility afforded to the working hours.

In addition, the post holder must be prepared to undertake such additional duties which may result from changing circumstances, but which may not of necessity, change the general character or level of responsibility of the post.

This role will be office based but will have some travel requirements for site surveys and meetings.
What skills and experience do we need you to bring to the role:

We are looking for someone who is passionate about providing support to their community through policing initiatives.

Whilst not essential, a basic understanding of policing computer systems would be beneficial. A proficiency in Microsoft applications will also be required.

The successful candidate must demonstrate good communication skills at all times, both with internal colleagues, partners and the wider public,

The ability to gather and analyse information and provide results for further analysis will be required as will the ability to write reports and present recommendations,

A full driving licence is required for the role.
The successful Candidate must be willing to undergo vetting to MV/SC Vetting.
