Fabric Maintenance Engineer
Mobile Role | Building Services | £28,000 – £30,000 + Overtime
We’re recruiting for an experienced Fabric Maintenance Engineer to join a mobile building services team supporting a portfolio of commercial sites.
This is a hands-on role carrying out planned and reactive fabric maintenance across occupied buildings. You’ll be responsible for general repairs, maintenance and keeping sites safe, functional and presentable.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for:
- Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Reactive building fabric repairs
- General maintenance and handyman works
- Door, lock and ironmongery repairs
- Painting and decorating
- Basic joinery and carpentry
- Minor plumbing repairs
- Flooring and wall repairs
- Fence and external repairs
- Groundworks and general site upkeep
- Responding to reactive maintenance requests
- Recording works via job management systems
Work Includes
- Doors, frames, locks and ironmongery
- Internal and external fabric repairs
- Basic joinery and carpentry works
- Painting and decorating
- Patch repairs to walls, ceilings and flooring
- External fencing and site repairs
- General building maintenance tasks
Salary & Benefits

Requirements
- Experience in building fabric maintenance or general maintenance
- Background in handyman / fabric / estates maintenance roles
- Ability to carry out basic repairs across multiple trades
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable Experience
- Facilities maintenance experience
- Experience working on commercial or public sector sites
- Multi-skilled maintenance background
- Knowledge of basic plumbing, carpentry or decorating
