The role in a nutshell:
As a Retail Assistant volunteer, you will help us raise funds by assisting with the daily running of our charity shops.
What will you be doing?
Tasks include, but are not limited to:
Help up process stock that we receive into our stores
Help be a merchandiser for the store
Operate the till and provide quality customer service
Help to create and arrange themed window displays
Be a champion for Gift Aid
How would you be supported in this role?
In addition to induction training, you will be supported by the Retail management team who will regularly check in with you and provide support and guidance.
Why do we need volunteers in this role?
As an independent charity, over 60% of our income is made from our retail operations. Without our team of dedicated volunteers, we would not be able to deliver our crucial support services/activities or to develop new services in the future.
Additional information:
The following shifts are available for volunteers:
Monday - Saturday
9am - 1pm, 1pm - 5pm, 10am - 2pm
Sunday
10:30am - 4:30pm

As part of joining our Retail team, we’ll ask you to provide two references.

Knowledge of antiques, vintage items and/or collectibles (desirable)
