Mental Health Officer
Location: Edinburgh
Pay Rate: £45 – £50 per hour
Contract Type: Temporary
Seven Resourcing are currently recruiting for an experienced Mental Health Officer to join a statutory mental health team in Edinburgh. This role involves undertaking key statutory duties under mental health legislation, supporting individuals through assessments, tribunal processes, and ongoing care and treatment reviews.
The role sits within a well-supported, highly regarded team known for strong supervision and a collaborative working culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake statutory Mental Health Act assessments and related duties
- Prepare and complete detailed reports for tribunals and hearings
- Support individuals subject to compulsory measures and review processes
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including health and legal professionals
- Participate in case conferences, hearings, and risk management planning
- Ensure all statutory documentation is completed accurately and within required timescales
- Promote least restrictive practice and person-centred outcomes
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with SSSC registration (or eligibility to register)
- Approved Mental Health Officer (AMHP) qualification or equivalent Mental Health Officer training (Scotland)
- Experience working within statutory mental health services
- Strong understanding of mental health legislation and tribunal processes
- Excellent assessment, report writing, and communication skills
Working Pattern
This role offers hybrid working and a condensed 4-day working week where preferred, subject to service requirements and agreement.
