About the Role
As Nursery Manager, you'll have overall responsibility for the leadership, performance and success of the nursery.
You'll inspire and motivate your team to deliver exceptional care and education while ensuring the nursery operates to the highest standards of quality, safeguarding and compliance.
This is a varied leadership role where no two days are the same. You'll balance supporting your team on the nursery floor with managing operations, developing staff, building relationships with families and driving the continued success of the setting.
Your Responsibilities
As Nursery Manager, you will:
- Lead the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring exceptional standards of care and education
- Inspire, motivate and develop your team through coaching, mentoring and regular supervision
- Deliver an engaging, child-centred curriculum fully aligned with the EYFS Framework
- Create a positive, inclusive culture where both children and staff can thrive
- Lead recruitment, inductions, appraisals and professional development
- Monitor occupancy levels and support the commercial success of the nursery
- Manage budgets, resources and operational performance effectively
- Build strong relationships with parents, carers and external professionals
- Ensure full compliance with safeguarding, Ofsted, health & safety and all statutory requirements
- Drive continuous improvement and maintain outstanding standards across the nursery
About You
We're looking for an experienced and inspiring leader who is passionate about delivering exceptional Early Years education.
Essential
- Level 3 qualification (or above) in Early Years Education or Childcare
- Previous experience as a Nursery Manager, Deputy Nursery Manager or experienced Early Years Leader
- Excellent knowledge of the EYFS Framework, safeguarding and Ofsted requirements
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
- Experience managing and developing high-performing teams
- Commercial awareness with the ability to support occupancy growth
- A positive, child-centred approach with a genuine passion for Early Years
Desirable
- Level 5 qualification or above in Early Years or Leadership
- Experience leading or supporting successful Ofsted inspections
- Budget management experience
- Knowledge of nursery management systems and operational reporting
