We are seeking an enthusiastic and engaging Spanish Club Instructor / Language Teacher to lead a weekly after-school Spanish Club at a primary school in Taunton. This role gives children the opportunity to develop confidence in learning a new language through fun, interactive activities that build vocabulary, pronunciation, speaking, and listening skills in a supportive environment.
The club runs Tuesdays, 3:30pm – 4:30pm (1 hour per week) during term time, commencing from September 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise small groups of primary-aged children in engaging Spanish language sessions.
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities that introduce vocabulary, conversational phrases, pronunciation, and cultural awareness.
- Use games, songs, storytelling, and interactive activities to make language learning enjoyable and accessible.
- Encourage confidence, participation, and curiosity in learning Spanish.
- Adapt activities to suit different learning styles and abilities.
- Communicate effectively with school staff and, where appropriate, parents regarding children's participation and progress.
- Ensure all teaching resources and learning spaces are organised, safe, and prepared for each session.
Experience & Skills
- Experience teaching Spanish to children in schools, clubs, tutoring, or similar educational settings.
- Ability to engage and inspire young learners in a structured yet enjoyable environment.
- Strong English communication skills and a good level of spoken Spanish.
- A background in language teaching, education, linguistics, or child-focused tutoring is desirable.
