About the Role
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Sales Administrator to join our specialist team. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded individual with hands-on experience in the precision tube or metal pipe industry to play a key role in supporting our sales function and delivering exceptional service to our customers.
You will work closely with the external sales team, production, and procurement functions to ensure orders are processed accurately and efficiently — from initial enquiry through to delivery. Your product knowledge and sector understanding will be central to building strong client relationships and supporting business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and manage customer orders, quotations, and enquiries accurately and in a timely manner
- Liaise directly with customers to provide product information, lead times, pricing, and order updates
- Maintain and update the CRM and order management systems with accurate data
- Coordinate with internal departments — including procurement, production scheduling, and logistics — to ensure smooth order fulfilment
- Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and activity summaries for management review
- Support the external sales team with quotes, sample requests, and customer correspondence
- Handle customer complaints and after-sales queries professionally and efficiently
- Monitor stock levels and liaise with purchasing on material availability for precision tube and pipe products
- Identify and flag opportunities for upselling or cross-selling within existing accounts
Skills & Experience RequiredEssential
- Demonstrable experience in a sales administration or internal sales role within the precision tube, metal pipe, or related metals distribution industry
- Solid understanding of tube and pipe specifications, materials (e.g. stainless steel, carbon steel, copper, aluminium), grades, and standards
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple orders and priorities simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and customer-focused manner
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data entry, quotation preparation, and order processing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience using ERP or CRM systems
Desirable
- Experience with BS EN or ASTM tube and pipe standards
- Familiarity with export documentation or international shipping requirements
- Knowledge of value-added processes such as cutting, bending, or forming services
- Previous experience within a stockholder, distributor, or manufacturer environment
