We are recruiting an experienced Estates Site Technician to join a busy and supportive Estates & Facilities team at a leading London college. This is an excellent opportunity for someone local, hands‑on, and confident working in a school or college environment.
As part of the Estates team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the campus remains safe, secure, clean, and fully operational for learners, staff, and visitors. This is a varied, practical role ideal for someone proactive, reliable, and customer‑focused.
Provide day‑to‑day caretaking support across the college, ensuring all areas remain safe, tidy, and accessible.
Carry out general maintenance tasks including repairs to doors, locks, fixtures, furniture, walls, tiles, and fittings.
Support with room setups, events, examinations, and campus activities.
Assist with goods‑in deliveries, loading/unloading vehicles, and distributing items across campus.
Conduct regular site checks, reporting issues and completing tasks via the Estates Helpdesk.
Support opening and closing of the site, including alarm setting.
Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces to a high standard.
Follow all Health & Safety, safeguarding, and compliance procedures.
Travel between local sites when required (college vehicle provided).
Basic electrical repairs (e.g., replacing lights, switches).
Basic plumbing knowledge (e.g., fixing leaks, unblocking drains).
Experience in caretaking or site maintenance-ideally within a school or college.
Strong practical skills and the ability to carry out a range of maintenance tasks.
A team player with excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach.
Someone physically capable of lifting, carrying, and completing manual tasks.
A full UK driving licence (up to 3.5t).
Someone local, able to attend site quickly in emergencies or adverse weather.
