We are seeking a chef to join our small kitchen team. We are a fresh food establishment with a focus on traditional pub fayre. We are open to meeting chefs of all levels.
The position available is part-time, with hours ranging between 16 and 30 per week. There will however be regular opportunities for holiday cover. The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in a fast-paced, professional kitchen environment
- A good base knowledge of food and professional cooking with a background in fresh food kitchens
- Experience in controlling stock and managing produce ordering
- A strong knowledge of kitchen cleanliness, health, and safety to aid in the maintenance of our high hygiene standards
- Interest in development of new menu items and specials
- Willingness to assist across all sections, including supporting the pot washing team when required
The candidate's core skills will include:
- The capacity to work well under pressure, as well as the initiative to make the best use of time during quieter periods and lulls in service
- The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with kitchen colleagues and with members of our front of house team
- The ability to work independently both during food service and when prepping
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good time management
Pay is dependent upon experience.
