Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Property Accountant to join our growing Finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in carrying out the financial operations of our residential property portfolio, ensuring timely and accurate output.
Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Processing of invoices and carrying out supplier payment runs
- Handle all property-related financial transactions, including rent invoicing, and reconciliations. Ensure accurate posting to ledgers.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts related to properties, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly.
- Support audits and internal control reviews, ensuring proper documentation and accurate reporting.
- Assist Property Accounts Manager with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the BTR portfolio, ensuring high levels of accuracy.
- Systems & Process Improvement
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with internal teams to support the business and ensure financial objectives are met.
Skills and Experience
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in property accounting, with a focus on Build to Rent (BTR) or residential property portfolios.
- AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent).
- Experience with property management software (Yardi, MRI, or similar) is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of UK accounting principles, VAT, and tax regulations as they pertain to property.
- Solid understanding of property management operations
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex financial matters to non-financial colleagues.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
- A team player with the ability to work independently when required.
