Mechanical Project Manager
An established and growing HVAC specialist with offices across the UK is looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to support the continued expansion of its Projects team.
This role will involve overseeing mechanical HVAC projects from initial planning through to final handover. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all stages of delivery including surveys, quotations, project planning, procurement, labour coordination, commissioning, client liaison, and handover documentation. You will ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
The position will involve managing directly employed installation engineers as well as specialist subcontractors across multiple projects. The role is split between office/home working and attending live project sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage HVAC and mechanical projects from conception to completion
- Carry out site surveys, prepare quotations, and support project design
- Coordinate labour, subcontractors, and material procurement
- Monitor project costs, timelines, and quality standards
- Oversee commissioning activities and client handovers
- Produce and manage O&M documentation
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and engineers
- Ensure health & safety compliance across all project activities
Requirements
- Proven background delivering commercial HVAC projects
- Strong experience managing AHU, VRF/VRV, chiller, boiler, ventilation, and ductwork projects
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Project Management role
- Previous responsibility for supervising engineering teams and subcontractors
- Strong commercial understanding and contract awareness
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and MS Project
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Candidates based within the South West would be advantageous
Package
- Salary: £65,000 – £75,000 depending on experience
