Job Overview
We’re looking for a Maintenance Operative to join our Manchester team.
You’ll ensure that flats, communal areas, and plant rooms are safe, well-maintained, and welcoming.
From handling general repairs to supporting room turns, you’ll play a key role in keeping the site running efficiently and residents happy.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete daily and weekly planned preventive maintenance (PPM) tasks
- Handle general maintenance across plumbing, electrical, lighting, heating/cooling, and decorating
- Carry out minor repairs and painting, escalating complex issues to contractors when needed
- Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests
- Conduct site inspections and maintain clear, accurate records (including photos)
- Support room turns within a 5-day SLA
- Communicate effectively with residents, site managers, and the central office
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures and site access protocols
- Participate in training and improvement initiatives
What We’re Looking For
- Multi-trade skills (e.g. plumbing, joinery, decorating)
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Comfortable using job management systems (e.g. BigChange, FixFlow)
- Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a team
