Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter and Decorator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying paint, wallpaper, and other finishes to various surfaces, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. This role offers the opportunity to work on projects, in residential properties, contributing to transforming spaces with colour and decoration. A valid driving licence is preferred.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and filling cracks or holes to ensure a smooth base for painting or decorating.
- Apply paints, varnishes, wallpapers, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Interpret project specifications and colour schemes accurately to meet client expectations.
- Protect surrounding areas by covering floors and furniture with sheets or masking tape during work.
- Mix paints and colours to achieve desired shades as specified in project plans.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored after use.
- Collaborate with clients and team members effectively through clear communication skills.
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times to ensure a safe working environment.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction painting or decorating is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of different painting techniques and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or instructions.
- Good communication skills in English for effective interaction with clients and team members.
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for site travel purposes.
- Prior experience working on both residential and commercial projects is preferred but not essential; training will be provided where necessary.
