Job Title: HGV Driver / Transport & Plant Operative (Grab / Hotbox)

We are a growing surfacing contractor looking for a reliable and proactive HGV Driver / Transport & Plant Operativeto join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a varied position combining driving, plant care, and supporting site operations.
The successful candidate will primarily operate our grab truck and hotbox, while also helping manage the day-to-day upkeep of our HGV and plant fleet.
Key Responsibilities
- Driving and operating grab truck and hotbox for surfacing works
- Transporting materials and equipment to and from site
- Managing vehicle checks, compliance
- Ensuring vehicles and plant are maintained and operating correctly
- Liaising with management regarding maintenance or repair requirements
- Assisting the surfacing team on site when required
- Supporting general site operations when not driving
Requirements
- Valid HGV Licence (Class 2 minimum)
- HIAB / Grab experience preferred
- CPC qualification
- Good understanding of vehicle checks and compliance requirements
- Reliable, hardworking and willing to be hands-on
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience within surfacing or highways works
- Ability to operate surfacing plant (rollers, pavers, etc.)
- NRSWA / Streetworks card
