Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Drayman/Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods, ensuring timely transportation across designated routes. This role requires a professional with excellent communication skills, mechanical knowledge, and a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, contributing to the smooth operation of our logistics services.
Duties
- Safely operate commercial vehicles, including lorries and delivery vans, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely arrivals at various locations
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance
- Load and unload goods carefully, ensuring items are secure during transit
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance activities
- Assist with minor mechanical repairs or troubleshooting as needed to minimise downtime
Requirements
- Valid driver’s licence
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism
Pay: £650.00-£700.00 per week
